Christ and the Learned

Christ comes to live in the heart of those Learned and Knowledgeable, who are willing to count their learning as nothing1 and in humility, to accept HIM as everything2.

1. Secondary to Christ- and keeping away Pride(of being learned). Knowing Christ is of supreme worth- Christ is the Wisdom of God.

2. Our Lord and our God.

Love of God

Love of God begins to grow in a heart that believes.
Love of God continues to live in a heart that reveres God.
Love of God is a Grace that imparts Divine quality to human love.
Love of God is a salt that preserves human love from corruption.
Love of God is an Eternal light that directs our life to our Heavenly home.
Love of God gives spiritual strength to human love- to be kind; to be gentle; to be understanding; to be forgiving.
Without the Love of God, human love is incapable of uprightness.

Soaring towards Heaven

Just like an Airplane needs to gather momentum and acceleration  to take off- we need to gather1and build up our faith gradually, to rise above earthly things- and soar towards Heaven.

1. Gather faith experiences from our personal life- where we experienced God's presence- very closely.
Gather faith from the lives of the Saints.
Gather faith from the lives of the Apostles and Disciples of Christ.

Zacchaeus and Herod

In Humility1, Zacchaeus was eager to meet Jesus.
In vain curiosity and pride, Herod was waiting to meet Jesus.

Salvation came home to Zacchaeus.
Herod was left to desolation- to die in sin.

1. Humility- that is willing to welcome Jesus with all heart.
Humility- that is repentant and joyfully willing to accept God's salvation.

Perfect sacrifice

In one act of Jesus's death on the cross, HE took away the sins of generations to come- for, HE was the Perfect sacrifice.

Only a perfect1 sacrifice has the Grace to remedy the sins of the world.

Christ alone- is the way to salvation.

1. Blameless; sinless; spotless lamb.

A moment of Light

A single spiritual moment is so precious; so valuable and so Holy. It is like a Brilliant Light.

Moments of sin are like darkness1- a whole lot of darkness.

A single little spiritual moment is a great consolation- for it dispels the darkness and brings us closer to God.

Let your day be filled with the presence of at least a single moment of light
2-  to dispel the darkness of several other unfruitful moments.

1. Gloom; anxiety; Hopelessness; unbelief.

2. A moment of Faith; Goodness; Hope in God; Good deed; Gratefulness to God; a quiet time with God.

Christ- our Good Shepherd

Christ comes searching for us, like a Good shepherd.
He patiently waits for our return home- like a Merciful Father of a prodigal son .
But we are busy in worthless1 living - till our mortal flesh is all defiled2 and our weak faith is almost lost.

1. life without the reverence of God is worthless.

2. life of vanity exposes us to every evil and makes us vulnerable.

Love and Forgiveness

A person who does not forgive- doesn't  love.
A person who doesn't love1- does not know God.
A person who does not know God- is a unworthy person-   a slave2of vanity.

1. Love comes from God.
2. Vanity rules his heart and his life .

Wednesday, 24 May 2017

And, we say- we don't need God.

Our heart receives the strength1 to love- from God.
Our heart receives the inspiration to love- from God.
Our heart receives the Grace to forgive and patiently bear the hurt feelings- from God.
Our heart receives the Grace to believe in God's faithful love- in difficult moments- from God.

If we don't believe in God; if we don't incline our heart towards the love of God- who will teach our heart to Love? Who will revive our heart?

1. When our love grow cold, we  are not able to understand each other and bear patiently with each other- not able to forgive each other.

The narrow gate of life

To live according to the commandments1 of God- is a narrow gate.

To live according to the practices of the world; to live according to our natural inclinations2- is a wide gate.

1. Following God's commandments is a hard road- as it yields fruits (love, Joy, Peace and every goodness)  through patience and perseverance.
God's commandments inclines our heart to the 'kingdom of God'- to a life of Love; Peace; Eternal life.

2. Human nature looks forward to satisfaction and happiness, in only earthly things. It looks no further than the world. it is inclined towards destruction- as it is opposed to God's commandments.

A call to unity- in Christ Jesus

God scattered mankind in different nations, speaking different languages, all over the world- because man united in his pride to defy1 the authority of God.

Man's enterprise in building a great tower for himself, was not for the Glory of God- but for his own glory; to satisfy his ever-increasing lust for achievements.

That which began as a small enterprise in building the 'Tower of Babel'2(reaching Heaven) has eventually reached the skies in modern advancement and technology- not acknowledging God or giving Glory to God- rather, being proud of his accomplishments.

Nevertheless- today, God calls us to repentance; to unity- in one faith; in one Love, in Christ Jesus- our Lord.

In Christ alone, we are unity- one world.

1. "let us build ourselves a city... and make a name for ourselves". [Genesis 11:4]

Rather than living according to Yahweh's commandments and becoming Yahweh's people and Yahweh's Blessed nation.

2. 'Tower of Babel' signifies the defying attitude of mankind towards God.

Those who don't acknowledge God- they have their own 'Tower of Babel'-  their accomplishments; fame; beauty; wealth; education etc.

we must acknowledge God for every aspect of our being; our life.

When we don't acknowledge God- we defy God.

Faith

Faith is- a Grace of perfect confidence1 in God- a Grace given to Humble souls2.

1. For God everything is possible. HE is the Master of all the circumstances. HE does everything for our own good (Everything HE wills for our life, is for our own good.)

This is the confidence which we should feel in our heart- each time we think about God.

2. souls who are eager and willing to know God and live in God.

Walking with God

Advance each day of your life with Faith1 and Humility2 in God.

Live your life to the edification of the unbelieving3 world.

1. God is always with us- and does everything for our own good.
2. Accepting God's authority in our life and humbly accepting God's will for our life.
3. Those who have still not accepted Christ- as their salvation.

Life- this way, please.

Earn- to live.
Live- to Love1.

1. Make Love an ultimate goal of your life. Let all your deeds  proceed out of Love for God.  For without God, there is no Love; without Love, there is no life- no living.

Skeptic and the 'word of God'

Skeptic :  "I could write something down and say, this is from God- it doesn’t mean that it really is. Is there any proof that 'Holy Bible' is the inspired word of God?"

Faithful : The Sacred scripture is the living word ,inspired by God. The men who were instrumental in writing this word were under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the wisdom that has come from above. The scripture says," the wisdom that comes down from above is essentially something pure; it is also Peaceable, kindly and Considerate; it is full of Mercy and shows itself by doing good; nor is there any trace of partiality or hypocrisy in it." [ james3:17]. Christ says," ‘It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh has nothing to offer. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life." [John6: 63]. The written word of God has life giving Spirit. It has Divine quality. The sacred scripture says," so it is with the word that goes from my mouth: it will not return to me unfulfilled or before having carried out my good pleasure and having achieved what it was sent to do." [ Isaiah 55: 11 ]

The word of God gives us the Grace and strength  and compels us in doing Good. It makes the 'will of God'- it's rule, and HIS Glory- its end.

The word born of human reasoning lacks God's Spirit. It's aim is personal victory rather than the triumph of the 'Truth'. This is truly a false wisdom. The Sacred scripture says," But if at heart you have the bitterness of jealousy, or selfish ambition, do not be boastful or hide the 'Truth' with lies; this is not the wisdom that comes from above, but earthly, human and devilish." [James 3:14-15 ] and the effect that it produces is disharmony and wickedness of every kind.

If the above refutation seems to be insufficient to the unbeliever, then St. Thomas Aquinas says,"  If our opponent believes nothing of Divine revelation, there is no longer any means of proving the articles of Faith by reasoning, but only of answering his objections---if he has any---against Faith." [  Saint Thomas Aquinas Summa Theologica I (7).]

Faith vs reason

Reason (ignorance about God ) needs to be won by our Faith and Love in Christ Jesus, as Lord Jesus Himself said : " by your Love they'll know , you are my Disciples. ". Engaging a battle of reasons doesn't gain much.

* bad faith (belief in Gods other than Jesus Christ) is won not by persuading words- but, by the sanctity of our life in Jesus Christ.

Time for God

We are so busy with life , that we can hardly find time for God. But its not the question of finding time for God.

God gives us life for each day. He gives it generously, so that we may live it fruitfully in HIM. And we on our part, hardly spare any time for God.

God gives us a full measure for each day and HE expect us to return it in full (our fruitful work). And the only way we can do this, is by doing our work in the awareness of HIS presence- by living each moment in God.

This is the duty of each moment - to live in the presence of God, believing that God-is-with-us.

Faith in God

Where everything (Hope) is dead- there, Faith lives.

Because, Faith lives with God.

The Times- Now

In the light of the Holy Bible, the times now can be interpreted in a single verse : " When Love of God grows cold in our heart, it gives rise to every kind of wickedness and lawlessness."

The Holy Scripture says, "  Watch and Pray ". Watch - where your heart is leading you; where the times now is leading you. And Pray !

No " Human Law " has the power to destroy the Evil. Evil is conquered and destroyed only through Faith in God.

And as the Holy Scripture says:  "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts...". Do not harden your heart to believe in God and change your wrong way of life.
But unfortunately, due to weak human nature, we have to learn a hard lesson- always !

God is a Faithful-loving-Father, who patiently waits for HIS children. It is we , who have to come back to HIM- with Humility and with Faith, united in GOD.

  Blessed be GOD !!!

Humility

Sin is abhorrent to God.

But God looks mercifully on those with humble heart- God loves the humility of a Contrite heart.

Humility brings us to repentance-  it reconcile us with God.

Pride stagnates us into ignorance of God- and sin. It makes us worthless.

Humility makes us resilient in God- it renews our spirit and makes us alive.

Humility listens to God's voice- responds to God's invitation.

Humility welcomes Faith- and grows in the direction of Faith. Pride blocks Faith.

Humility cannot exist without God. we cannot live humble life without acknowledging God's presence  in our life.

A Holy nation

A nation obeying the 'commandments of God' enjoys Peace and order- otherwise, it is thrown into every kind of immorality and disorder- and faithlessness.

A nation needs to be governed by people, whose life stands on the firm foundation of 'God's Holy commandments'.

Those who are not wholeheartedly for God, cannot be faithfully with the nation- in governing the nation.

The Greatness of God's Love

HE condescended in the form of human being- for the sake of our love.
HE suffered the pain and became a squirming worm on the cross- for the sake of our love.
We crucified HIM, nevertheless, HE forgave us- for the sake of our love.

In the  weakness and stubbornness of our human nature we defy HIM (who created us in HIS love) but HE patiently waits for our return- for the sake of our Love.
HE resurrected from the dead (to give us the hope of Eternal Life)- for the sake of our love.

He took the burden of our sins upon HIMSELF and gave us the gift of HIS love.
HE hides HIS pain and shows us HIS Love.
The magnificence of HIS Faithful Love and HIS infinite Mercy is proclaimed- the intensity of HIS unfathomable pain remains  hidden and obscure- for the sake of our love.

Christian living is a life of constant Love1- a love that is Faithful today and Forever.

For Jesus Christ is the same Yesterday, Today, and Forever.

The kiss of betrayal

The picture depicts the 'night of betrayal'- Jesus Christ, the 'Lamb of God' betrayed by Judas Iscariot.
The kiss of betrayal

Here's my Artwork for 'Good Friday' 2017.

Title: The kiss of betrayal.

Theme: The picture depicts the 'night of betrayal'- Jesus Christ, the 'Lamb of God' betrayed by Judas Iscariot.

Description:
1. The background- the 'dark night' is woven with treachery* and Passion. The purple colors of the sky and the thorns denotes the night of suffering and agony. The night is overshadowing Jesus. The night of agony is filled with bright crosses- instead of stars- symbolizing suffering leading to Glory.

2. The heart with a cross denotes Jesus Christ. The heart of Christ is shown in pure white- symbolic of Purity- unblemished Lamb. The heart of Christ, which is full of Love is melting- symbolic of Christ willingly and Lovingly sacrificing Himself for our salvation. Thorns on the heart- symbolic of agony of Jesus.

3. The lips of Judas Iscariot are shown in two colors- the outer smooth edge in white and the inner jagged edge in black- symbolic of impostor. He appeared to be the Apostle of Christ (belonging to the Light). On the contrary, he belonged to the darkness. The inner black lips merge into the night- symbolic of Judas belonging to the darkness. Judas, the betrayer is one with the 'night of betrayal' to betray the innocent 'Lamb of God'.
The betraying lips of Judas and the 'dark night' appear to bite into the innocence of Jesus.
The blood on the lips of Judas is symbolic of treachery.

* Treachery of Judas and treacherous plans of Sanhedrin.

Blessed be God !!!  Blessed be God !!!   Blessed be God !!!

P.S. Zoom in on the picture to understand the details.

The 'Most Holy Eucharist'- God's Loving gift.

The importance of ‘Holy Eucharist’ in our daily life:

We all need the love of our Parents; our friends and people around us- to grow into a sound human being. In addition to this, we also need the love of God- to nourish our spirit and soul. The ‘Holy Eucharist’ is the living presence and loving gift of God’s love for us.

2000 years ago, Christ manifested HIS physical presence on the earth. In today’s times, HE is present to us in the form of the ‘Holy Eucharist’. Jesus Christ gave us the precious gift of HIS Body- the ‘Holy Eucharist’, as a spiritual nourishment for our body and soul.

In this world of bad faith, we are surrounded by too many instances of lukewarm; unbelieving; immoral and sinful people- good faith is the spiritual property of only a few . In order to keep our faith in God alive, we need the daily presence of Jesus in our life. The ‘Holy Eucharist’ purifies our body and soul from the stains of sin. It unloads the burden of sin from our daily life. Consequently, we feel our life worth living- we feel free- our spirit becomes bright- because we are freed from the bondage of sin. The ‘Body of Christ’ is the salt of everlasting life, which protects us from the influence of sin and leads us on the path of salvation. Daily nourishment of this ‘living bread’ makes us more and more ‘Christ-like’ and Holy. Away from God, we become vulnerable to every kind of sin and evil tendencies. The ‘Body of Christ’ gives strength to our mortal flesh, to wade through the difficulties and trials of our life- and to persevere in our faith and love in Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is our constant help and faithful friend in times of need. The living ‘Body of Christ’ is our constant Peace; our faith; hope and salvation. The ‘Body of Christ’ is the source of abundant Joy- which strongly manifests itself in the most difficult moments of our life. The ‘Holy Eucharist’ gives us the opportunity and satisfaction of living with Jesus- which the Apostles enjoyed 2000 years ago. The ‘Body of Christ’ protects us from the influence and effects of sin. It dispels the darkness of sin from our mind and heart and helps us to see and understand everything clearly- in the light of God.
The ‘Body of Christ’ is the source of spiritual strength to our heart- and life to our soul. It makes us worthy of being God’s children. Furthermore, it prepares our soul for Eternal life. Receiving the ‘Body of Christ’ in complete Faith and Humility, grants us the pardon of all our sins and punishment due for our sins- purgatory. The ‘Holy Eucharist’ earnestly urges to walk our life in the direction of God. The ‘Body of Christ’ reconciles us with God. It preserves our life and soul. Also, it heals the brokenness of our sinful self and renews our spirit in God. The ‘Holy Eucharist’ grants us the Grace of love to live in the love of God.

Is the presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist- real?

The sacramental bread is made out of only four ingredients: fine (white) wheat flour, pure water, yeast, and salt.

During the consecration when the bread is blessed by the Priest, it appears as if nothing really happened. In truth, God’s love transforms the earthly nature of the bread into Divine nature of Christ (“this is my Body…this is my Blood…”). That which is perishable passes away- that which is Divine, lives- now. The appearance of the bread remains the same.

At wedding in Cana- Jesus’s words transformed the mere substance of the water into wine. Jesus Christ, Himself is the ‘word incarnate’. HIS words are spirit and Life. At the last supper, when Jesus (the word incarnate; the living Truth; the Life) blessed the bread, saying: “this is my Body…” In truth, at that very instant HE gave the totality of HIS self to us in the form of the bread. In the manner, God’s word became flesh; likewise, Jesus’s words- “this is my Body…” turned into a living presence of Himself- this is God’s gift of love for us.

For in the manner, Christ’s humanity was visible to us 2000 years ago, but HIS Divinity was invisible. Likewise, HIS humanity is visible now, in the form of bread; but HIS Divinity( HIS Divine flesh) remains hidden from our mortal eyes- because of our lack of faith.( At Emmaus, Jesus opened the eyes of faith of his slow-to-believe disciples- and they were able to recognize him). Only when God opens our eyes to see HIS Divinity (HIS Divine flesh) - only then, we’ll see and understand the truth of HIS words- “this is my Body…”

I’ll like to cite three Eucharistic miracles to enliven your faith in the living presence of Jesus in the ‘Most Holy Eucharist’.

Eucharistic miracle of Siena:
At Cascia, in the basilica dedicated to St. Rita, is preserved the relic of the Eucharistic Miracle, which happened near Siena in 1330. A priest was asked to bring Communion to a sick peasant. The priest took the consecrated Host and irreverently placed it in the pages of his breviary and went to the peasant. After hearing the confession of the sick man, he opened the book to take out the Host- to his great surprise, he found that the Host was stained with the living blood. The priest, confused and penitent, went immediately to Siena to the Augustinian Priory to ask the counsel of Fr. Simone Fidati of Cascia, known by all to be a holy man. Fr. Fidati, having heard the story, granted pardon to the priest and asked to keep the two pages marked by the Blood. Many Popes have promoted veneration, conceding indulgences.

Eucharistic miracle of St. Peter Damian:
St. Peter Damian (Doctor of the Church) recounts an important Eucharistic miracle, of which he was the direct witness. It took place in the year 1050. A woman, urged by an evil temptation, was about to take the Eucharistic Bread home, to use the Sacred Species for sorcery. But the priest noticed what she had done and ran after her, and recovered the Host which she had sacrilegiously stolen. When he unfolded the white linen cloth in which the sacred Host had been wrapped, he found that the Host had been transformed in such a way that half of it had become visibly the Body of Christ, while the other half preserved the normal look of a Host. With such a clear testimony, God wanted to win over the unbelievers and the heretics who refused to accept the real presence of the Eucharistic mystery: in one half of the consecrated bread the Body of Christ was visible, while in the other half, the natural form- thus highlighting the reality of the sacramental transubstantiation taking place at the Consecration.

The Miracle of Lanciano:
One day in the eighth century, in the church dedicated to Saints Legontian and Domitian in Lanciano, a Basilian monk was celebrating the Holy Mass in the Latin rite, with a host of unleavened bread. The monk started doubting the real and substantial presence of the Flesh and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the consecrated Holy Species. After having pronounced the words of Consecration (“This is My Body... This is My Blood”), as Jesus had taught it to His Apostles, the monk saw the host change into a living piece of Flesh, and the wine change into real blood, which thereupon coagulated and split into five globules, irregular and differing in shape and size. Over the last twelve centuries, different Bishops of the diocese of Lanciano made authentifications of the holy relics. All testified that these facts were miraculous and true.

In 1970-71, and taken up again partly in 1981, there took place a scientific investigation by the most illustrious scientist Prof. Odoardo Linoli, eminent Professor in Anatomy and Pathological Histology and in Chemistry and Clinical Microscopy. He was assisted by Prof. Ruggero Bertelli of the University of Siena. The analysis were conducted with absolute and unquestionable scientific precision, and they were documented with a ngseries of microscopic photographs.

These analysis sustained the following conclusions:
The Flesh is real flesh. The Blood is real Blood. The Flesh and the Blood belong to the human species. The Flesh consists of the muscular tissue of the heart. In the Flesh, we see present in a section: the myocardium, the endocardium, the vagus nerve and also the left ventricle of the heart, for the large thickness of the myocardium. The Flesh and the Blood have the same blood type: AB (The blood-type identical to that which Prof. Baima Bollone uncovered in the Holy Shroud of Turin). In the Blood there were found proteins in the same normal proportions (percentage-wise) as are found in the sero-proteic make-up of fresh normal blood. In the Blood there were also found these minerals: chlorides, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, sodium and calcium. The preservation of the Flesh and Blood, which were left in their natural state for twelve centuries and exposed to the action of atmospheric and biological agents, remains an extraordinary phenomenon.

Preparing our heart to receive the ‘Body of Christ’:

We must enter the Church with Faith and Humility. Being aware of the weakness of our faith; sinfulness of our being, we must humbly acknowledge ourselves before God. As Zacchaeus was eager to meet Jesus- we must be eager to meet God with all our heart.

We must be in a state of Grace, to receive the ‘Holy Eucharist’- if we have committed a mortal sin, then we must confess that sin to a Priest and seek pardon from God. If we have ill feelings (anger; grudge; jealousy) in our heart against anyone, we must first reconcile with that person and then approach the altar of God. No one should receive the Lord’s Body unworthily.

Our attire should not be disrespectful of the presence of God- we must observe modesty and decency in our attire. It will be much helpful to prepare ourselves spiritually before attending the Holy Mass. We must always come early for the Holy Mass. To derive spiritual benefits from the Holy Mass, we must take active participation- be present with our whole self in the Holy Mass- keep distractions away.

The Holy Mass is a celebration of Mount Calvary; it is a loving sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our salvation- be grateful to God for redeeming us; remember to thank God for all the good things HE has done in our life; pray for our beloved ones; remember to offer our prayers for the deceased family members. Furthermore, pray for the Grace to grow and stay united in the love of God.

Summary:
In the beginning, Jesus Christ condescended into human form and now HE condescends and presents to us in the form of simple bread. This act of greatest humility and greatest love, HE performs for love of us- we should be mindful of this truth and be grateful to God for HIS loving gift. When receiving the ‘Holy Eucharist’, we must approach God, with the faith of the ‘centurion’; humility of the ‘tax collector’ and eagerness of ‘Zacchaeus’.

Palm Sunday' 2017

The picture depicts the welcome of Jesus and the gradual transition of Passion into HIS Glory.
Palm Sunday' 2017

The picture depicts the welcome of Jesus and the gradual transition of Passion into HIS Glory.

1. The background colours shows Christ's Passion transitioning towards HIS Glory.

2. Further, we see the background covered with hearts progressing towards the cross---> For our salvation, Christ willingly and lovingly progresses towards HIS crucifixion.

3. Green and Red Palm leaves----> Among those who acclaimed Jesus were the ones who accused HIM in their hearts and led HIM to crucifixion.

4. Red cross denotes HIS sufferings; Jesus Christ, the source of Life---> they crucified the one, who came to give them Eternal life.

May Jesus Christ, the Paschal Lamb, take away all our sins and Bless us to live a Holy Christian Life in HIM.

Have a Blessed Holy week !!!

Christ is Triumphant

We all have done shameful and guilty things, for which we feel remorse and regret in our heart.

Verily, Christian life is not meant to be bogged down with guilt feelings.

Christian life is  resilient1- for Christ is Triumphant2.

1. When we fall into sin- in our faith in Christ, we must rise again. For in Christ alone, we overcome our sins and the world within us.

2. Victorious over sin and death- HE has conquered the world.

Signature of Christ

Christ is Love. Love is the signature of Christ.

Likewise, our Christian life be signed with the  'Love of Christ'.

Let the 'Love of Christ' become an integral part of our Christian life.

Let every deed of our daily living exude the fragrance of Christ's love- to inspire and edify the unbelieving hearts.

Does your life bear the mark of Christ's love?

The Beauty of the Cross

Those who seek the world- the world offers comfortable life- a life without the fear of God; a life without shame for sin; a life without repentance for sin.

Those who seek Christ- they receive the Grace to live a 'life of Love' in this world and they receive the Cross1.
But the beauty of the Cross is- though the Faithful live in the furnace of suffering, nevertheless they  exhibit the Peace2 and Happiness- a calmness in their soul.  God grants HIS children the Grace to bear the burden and sufferings in this world- patiently and with persevering Faith in HIM.

The world3 is thrown in amazement  and stupefied by the life of Faithful Christians.

1. The difficulties and sufferings.

2. Just like Daniel and his companions remained unharmed and at Peace in the heart of the fiery furnace- ordered by King Nebuchadnezzar.

3. Nebuchadnezzar- a prototype of the world.

God is Life

Where HE is1- there everything is alive2.

1. Where HE is Revered and Faithfully lived.

2. Spiritually alive, Morally alive- Our Heart; Our Soul;  Our Life; Our Family; Our Community; Our Nation.

Yoked with Christ

We feel the burden and difficulties of life, heavy and unbearable- because our life is not faithfully yoked with Christ.

Living our life by the standards of the world- life becomes burdensome and more complicated.

Life becomes simple, worthy and bearable by the standards of Christ- for HE who is Faithful is with us- always !

Sunday, 19 March 2017

Watch and Pray

Am I living a  life of Love1?
Is my life directing people2 to believe in God?
Do I live as God's witness3 at all times?

1. Christ's Love- be Loving; be Kind; be Forgiving; be Merciful; be Gentle; be Understanding; be Patient; be Persevering; be Hopeful.

2. Helping those who are unbelieving; those of weak faith.

3. Be a edifying inspiration of God's Love to those around us- that God's name be revered by all.

Jesus Christ: the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Jesus Christ is the 'Humble way' that passes through trials and tribulations of life- and endures it triumphantly- to Eternal Glory.

HE is the 'invincible Truth' which sets us free from every kind of bondage to sin and slavery to evil life.

HE is the 'Everlasting Life' which  makes our life fruitful and alive- and leads us to Eternal Life.

Choose Life

There is a way1 which leads to death- satan makes haste on this  way.
He always makes haste with all those who believe less2 in God's Mercy and those who want to make an end of their life.

Path which leads to life is- Jesus Christ.

Choose life.

Pray3 and hold fast onto God's love.

1. Unbelief in God; lack of trust in God's Mercy. Unbelief  is darkness. In darkness, there is no light; there is no God- there is no life. It leads to spiritual death.

2. Judas Iscariot trusted less in God's Mercy and Forgiveness- and was lost to perdition.

3. Peter; Tobit and Sarah- they prayed- they didn't allow themselves to be overcome by frustration and depression of life- and were healed by God's Faithful Love and  Infinite Mercy.

Sunday, 5 March 2017

Reformed youth

Be a revised1 edition of your Parents.

1. Beware of their bad habits; bad attitudes; bad behavior.
Be mindful of their good habits and improve on their good habits.
Most important of all- improve on their faith-in-God.

Lent is for Life

We live a fast life in this fast changing world. we are so busy in our little world- we hardly have any time for God- to talk with HIM; to listen to HIM - to reflect1 on our life and to amend our wrong ways.

Lent is a special period, which the Church dedicates for reflection and repentance of our life- the church entreats every faithful to moderate their life and spent some time with God. Lent invites us to introspect our life - our wrong attitudes; our wrong ways of life and to reconcile with God.

Lent is for acknowledging our sins with all humility ( just like St. Peter-"I am a sinful man.." [Luke5:8]).
Lent is for trusting in God's infinite Mercy and seeking HIS forgiveness for all our sins.
Lent is a time for believing and revering our Lord's life, death and resurrection- for our salvation.
Lent is for revering our Lord's suffering- and uniting our pains; our difficulties and sufferings with HIS suffering- for united with HIS suffering, HE grants us the grace to patiently bear our sufferings in this world.
Lent is for loving2; for forgiving; for deeds of Charity and Mercy.
Lent is for resolving ourselves to do something beautiful with our life- for God.

Our Lord came into this world, for us; HE lived for us; HE suffered for us and HE died for us- for our salvation. Lent encourages us to acknowledge this truth with all our heart and life and entreats us to resolutely determine ourselves to live for HIM and in HIM.

God loves a cheerful3 giver. Whatever each one has decided to do4 during this lenten period- it must be done cheerfully- without any reluctance or compulsion- for love of God and for the salvation of our soul.

Lent is for life. And our life in this world is short- too short, for all the 'Lents' in our entire lifetime, to bring us to repentance.

1. where is my life heading? How is my Faith relationship with God?
2. loving our neighbor; our family; our community.
3. Zacchaeus is a very good example of a cheerful repentant.
4. either fasting; abstinence; alms-giving; charity to the poor etc.

A True Boyfriend

Girls and young women often get deceived by their boyfriends, just because they do not understand what a true boyfriend is like. A true boyfriend will respect your body. He is considerate of your feelings. He won't take undue advantage of your weakness or circumstances. He won't trade Love and Friendship with carnal desire. He has pure feelings about you. He is driven only by Love. He'll Love you single-heartedly. He is satisfied with your presence and your true friendship. His moral integrity is impeccable.
you can assuredly continue your relationship with such a person and even go further to choose him as your soul mate.

And furthermore, if such a boyfriend is a God-fearing person, then you can rejoice and Thank God for having found the Modern " Tobias "-  Tobias was the son of Tobit. He was a man of integrity. His prayer: " And so I take my wife not for any lustful motive, but I do it in singleness of heart." [Tobit 8:7 ] - reflects his sound morality.
Such a person will always remain true to your heart and will never defile your marriage bed. Most of the men fail to inculcate in them the uprightness of Tobias.

In a word, a True boyfriend will always guard Friendship with a bond of Love.

Valentine's day

A day to celebrate Love and Friendship.

Love that respects God and human being.

A friendship that understands human frailty and strives to live by purity.

Love and Friendship that grows in union with God.

Human progress?

Men and Women have explored frontiers and have  progressed1 significantly  in many different fields- but less appreciably in being good husband/wife and Parents- much less a child of God.

1. our true progress is- growing in the love of God.

Do you Love or lust?

In the moments of intimacy, Love virtuously obeys the grace of Chastity to quench the fire of concupiscence.

Lust masquerades as 'True Love' and makes haste to do what is displeasing in the sight of God.

A True Christian

A true Christian is like a  fruitful1 tree- blooming with the goodness of every virtue.

1. He is fruitful because his life is planted and deeply rooted in Jesus Christ- the source of living water.

I have squandered...

Eternal Life is calling you

In this world of bad Faith, everything that we see, hear and follow is the voice of vanity.

One voice is unheard; unbelieved and ignored- the voice of Humility- the voice of Jesus Christ.

Eternal life is calling you. Take heed!!!

The Kingdom values

Our life is an assignment in Faith; Hope; Love and every other virtue.
Living our life according to the 'kingdom values'1 makes us worthy of God's Eternal kingdom.

1. Faith; Hope in God ( to wait upon God); Humility; love; Charity; Gentleness; Kindness; to be Merciful; to be Forgiving; Contrite; Sacrificing; Generosity; Patience; Understanding; Compassion; Perseverance;  Purity; Moderation.

Choose the one which your heart inclines to and your life needs the most- make 'kingdom values' the driving force of your life.

Saint's lives were characterized by the 'kingdom values'.

Human misery

The fact of human misery is- we fail to live daily in the love1 of Christ.

In the hardship and desperation of day-to-day life, we even become completely oblivious of Christ- the way of our life.

1. 'love', that assures us of God's presence in our life- gives strength and peace to our weary and troubled heart.

Christmas Crib' 2016

I have created this crib on the theme: "I am the Resurrection and the Life."

I have shown the birth of our Lord Jesus in the tomb, signifying HIS dual nature- "I am the resurrection and the life." A further attempt is made in showing HIS second coming- "Christ has died; Christ is risen, Christ will come again."

Life is resurrected- life is born.

Each element of the crib has a deeper meaning. Therefore, I request you to read the description of the crib as you admire its spiritual beauty.

Christmas Theme: I am the Resurrection and the Life.

  1. The tomb: The tomb is shown in white, signifying HIS divinity; His resurrection and HIS humble birth- here, the victorious Christ is resurrected to new life. Furthermore, I have shown HIS birth in the tomb signifying HIS second coming at the end of time. ("Christ has died; Christ is risen, Christ will come again.")
  2. Heart and the Star:  Christ( the love of God) is born to give new life to the world. Star- the symbol of HIS birth. The green color is symbolic of new life; peace; something that is alive; something that is growing. Furthermore, the green color alludes to green wood- symbolic of Christ' innocence- ("For if people do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?") [ Luke23:31 ]
  3. Tombstone: The tombstone is symbolic of the world-  putting an end to the 'love of Christ'- but, Love conquers all; defeats death and sin- breaks open every barrier.
  4. Palm leaves: 2000 years ago, people welcomed Christ as a Prophet- in present age, people are gradually coming to believe in HIM and accept HIM as the 'Messiah'. Palm leaf symbolizes welcome; rejoicing. ("Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!") [ Luke 19:38] [Mat 23:39]
  5. Vine offshoot: The vine sprig sprouting from the tomb is symbolic of Christ- the source of life- giving new life to the world. ("I am the vine; you are the branches.) [ John 15:5 ]. Christ is the vine in whom our life should be deeply rooted.

Our Faith ( in resurrected Christ)  begins here (in the tomb)-  "And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith." [ 1Corinthians 15:14 ]

New year

In the ways of the world, new year is for new plans; new resolutions; new undertakings etc.
In the ways of God- new year is for beginning new life in God and yet another year of preparation( for Eternal Kingdom) for those who are nearing their end of life.

What resolutions do we make?
what resolutions can we promise?

St. Augustine beautifully describes the truth of human nature in his prayer:

"our life groans under sorrow, yet mends not in deed.
If Thou spare us we correct not our ways- if Thou punish we cannot endure it.
In time of correction we confess our wrong-doing- after Thy visitation we forget that we have wept.
If Thou stretchest forth Thy hand we promise amendment- if Thou witholdest the sword we keep not our promise.
If Thou strikest we cry out for mercy- if Thou sparest we again provoke Thee to strike."

Today' picture of Christian life is- Married relationships are falling apart; relationship between husband and wife lacks love and affection;  Faith in God has grown weak- is not strong enough to endure the hardships of changing times.

In view of our life in this transient world, the only resolution we ought to keep is- our steadfast faith in Christ our Lord. The more we grow stronger in our faith relationship with God- the more it will conquer the world( unbelief; hate; malice; envy; anger etc.) that is within us- God's everlasting Peace will take hold of our life; our relationships.

Have a Blessed and Fruitful year in God !!!
